How a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies Equips Your Calling

A Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies is a valuable degree that helps to equip your calling. Whether you feel called to full-time ministry or any other vocation, all Christians are called to be faithful to the Lord in every aspect of life.

The Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies equips your calling by providing skills to “rightly divide the Word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). God’s divine power has given us “all things that pertain to life and godliness” (1 Peter 1:3), and God’s power is revealed in the Scriptures. God’s Word provides wisdom to be faithful wherever God has called you.

How does a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies help you understand the Scriptures?

By building on the foundation laid in the Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies, the bachelor’s degree will help you deepen your understanding of God’s Word. Instead of taking introduction or survey classes, you will be taking multiple book-study courses. Those classes are entirely focused on a single book of the Bible!

You will also begin by studying the original languages (either Greek or Hebrew), build on your hermeneutics skills by practicing exegetical interpretation, and take helpful courses like Philosophy, Ethics, Apologetics, Church History, and more.

The Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies also equips your calling by providing practical ministry skills in courses like Servant Leadership and Supervised Ministry.

The Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies program allows students to learn Greek.

Together these courses provide a program that equips you to understand the Bible and key Christian doctrines. They also allow you to think critically, communicate well, build ministry skills, and ultimately grow in Christlikeness. These objectives are essential for all Christians seeking to live faithfully wherever God has called them.

Whether God has called you to be a pastor, missionary, accountant, plumber, or stay-at-home mother, you are called to be faithful to Christ in every aspect of life. If God’s Word gives us guidance for this (and it does!), then the Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies can equip your calling.
