One of the most significant aspects of an educational institution is the faculty. Students enroll in colleges and universities around the world to receive an education. A great question for prospective students to ask of any college is, “Does the college have trained faculty and professors?”
At Carolina College of Biblical Studies, we can offer a resounding, “Yes!” Our faculty members are trained! Currently, CCBS has a pool of more than 40 professors who, in addition to agreeing with the CCBS faith and mission statement, are all academically trained. It is important that we have trained faculty members with the necessary credentials because it is a top requirement by the U.S. Department of Education to qualify as an accredited institution.
All of our trained faculty and professors have at least a master’s degree from an accredited school, which makes them eligible to teach at the undergraduate level.
To reference our previous blog on faculty, professors must also have a doctorate to teach at the graduate level. We’re proud to say that more than 50% of our trained faculty have earned doctorates.
Our faculty members hold doctorates in:
- Pastoral Ministry
- Theological Studies
Since the faculty earned degrees from accredited colleges, they have completed the rigor that accredited graduate degrees require. Every faculty member also teaches only within the disciplines in which they have studied.
In addition to the formal academic training the CCBS faculty has achieved, they also have trained in the trenches of ministry and academia. Most of the instructors at CCBS who teach Bible and theology courses have served or are serving, as pastors, chaplains, or in other ministries. The trained faculty members who teach general educational courses have many years of experience in the classroom from several universities across the region.
The teaching faculty at CCBS provides a wide range of backgrounds that complement the wide range of courses and degree programs that are available.
