Can I Attend Bible College and Work Full-Time?

If you have never attended Bible college before, or if it has been a long time since you were a student, you might be wondering can I attend Bible college while working full-time? For many people, simply quitting a job or ministry is not an option – but that does not mean that Bible college can’t be! In fact, many students work full-time while attending Carolina College of Biblical Studies (CCBS).

“How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver” (Proverbs 16:16, ESV).

There are many ways one can pursue their education while maintaining their full-time employment or ministry. We will cover three different ways:

1- Attend Bible college & work full-time by taking online classes

This can be done online or at the campus, depending on the school. Many colleges, such as CCBS, offer an online option, allowing for class time to be facilitated through Zoom or in a fully online format. You can also attend the campus if you live within a comfortable driving distance.

Many students who also work full-time, may choose a combination of in-person and online learning. This allows the student to have flexibility and choose what works best for them and their family.

At CCBS, the faculty are committed to helping their students grow in biblical wisdom and understanding whether that be at the school or from the comfort of their own home.

However, this doesn’t mean that people full-time can’t attend in-person. This leads to our second option.

2- Attend in-person

Many students do attend Bible college in person, and it works great for them! They work this out by selecting class times that are flexible with their work schedule. Many schools offer classes in the morning, afternoon, and evening. CCBS works diligently to fit the needs of their students to ensure a balanced and achievable education for all.

3- Attend Bible college part-time while working full-time

This can be a desirable option, since college is an experience that involves a certain level of rigor. Being a part-time student allows you to dedicate your full attention to each class, and if time of degree completion is not an issue, it also helps with cost.

However, many schools like CCBS offer extensive scholarships and grants, ensuring money is never a reason to miss out on education. The educational leaders at CCBS strive to make an excellent education affordable for all no matter their circumstances.

These are just a few options for people who are interested in both enrolling in college and working. The takeaway is that it is absolutely possible and worthwhile!
