Visited by an Angel

I am so blessed!  I was just visited by an angel!  This particular angel’s name is Dina McNair.  She is a 60ish year old saint who is a Pastor of a small black flock just out of Raeford about 20 miles southwest of Fayetteville.

Pastor McNair was saved in 1982 and called to ministry later that same year.  For four years she learned how to do ministry till in 1996 God called her to plant a new ministry all by herself.  So she rented a small building and watched God as He sent help to clean and paint the building.  Now she is watching as God calls boys and girls and men and women to Himself with about 25 currently gathering to worship on Sunday morning.

Recognizing her need for formal biblical training Nina quit a secure job in 2008 to attend CCBS fulltime.  She graduated in 2012 praising God for all she had learned.

Their small body has managed to completely purchase 4 beautifully wooded acres southwest of Raeford where they hope to establish a permanent ministry for the Gospel.  I had asked Nina to come by my new office here on the campus to ask her if her church could help us with our capital campaign.  As she shared her story I realized her church was so small and their finances were so tight I assumed they wouldn’t be able to help.  In fact I had determined in my mind not to ask for her participation.  But as we were concluding our visit she informed me that her church deeply yearned to help.  I was reminded of the Macedonian believers in 2 Corinthians 9:1-4:

“Now, brethren, we wish to make known to you the grace of God which has been given the churches of Macedonia, that in a great ordeal of affliction their abundance of joy and their deep
poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality. For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability they gave of their own accord, begging us with much entreaty for the favor of participation in the support of the saints….”

It was like Nina was begging me for the privilege of their church participating in this new building for Carolina College of Biblical Studies.  She will ask her church to give CCBS $50 a month for 3 years to enable us to successfully complete our capital campaign.

The tears did flow as we shared together of the joy God has granted us in investing our lives in someone else for Jesus sake. Today in the mail I received their pledge of $1800 and the first check for $50!

Blessing God because He has so richly blessed us.
